Emergency Task Force Update for Block Captains
Also looking for a few more volunteers
I want to thank everyone who has volunteered to be a block captain in the event of a long term power outage or any other emergency situation. We now have 30 volunteers and that is an amazing response from our community. We have 370 homes in the Black Creek Leisure Homes community. Our goal is to have a block captain for every 10 homes. We are looking for about 7 more volunteers. No one will be turned away who wish to help. We are especially short of coverage in the 500’s on Sunrise Dr. And Black Creek Trail; the homes on the north side of Pinewood; the south side of Beaver Pond; the Marsh Lane area; Redwood Square and Black Creek Blvd. Please e-mail me at dback1951@gmail.com or call 905-382-6273 to volunteer or get more information.
So far I have mapped out the volunteers so their assignments are very close to their own homes. I will continue in that endeavour.
There will be a meeting for all volunteers on Saturday April 1st at the hall in the Blue Heron Room. More details about that will be available soon. Watch for e-mail communications and Up the Creek.
Have a great day,
Dave Backshall
