PASSING OF RESIDENT – ISSY (ISIDORE) BEDARD
We regretfully advise you of the passing of Issy Bedard. Issy and his wife Marion moved into their home at 98 Tamarack Ave in September 2014. He was an active and well-known member of the community for many years, and will be missed by all those who knew him. Condolences to his wife Marion and family are extended from our community.
Obituary for Isidore (Izzy) Bedard
Isidore (Izzy) Bedard passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on Sunday, August 27 at Douglas Memorial Hospital, joining his late father, John, mother, Albertine, and several brothers and sisters. Izzy is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Marion, and his 3 children Dianne (Bill McLinden), Don (Joanne), and Daryl (Sue). Affectionately known as Papa, he will be greatly missed by his three grandchildren, Holly, Jordy, and Jennifer, and his two great grandchildren, Peyton and Rory. Izzy is also survived by his sister Elaine and many nieces and nephews.
As we celebrate Izzy’s life, we are reminded of the simple things he enjoyed most: watching kick boxing on tv, playing shuffleboard with friends at the hall, and just chatting on the porch with passersby. He loved it best when the family gathered to play cards and he was winning their money, while enjoying a rum and coke. Izzy will always be remembered for his love of country music, often singing his favourite tunes while strumming his guitar.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr Scher and all the wonderful nurses at Douglas Memorial Hospital who cared for Izzy on his journey and made his last days more comfortable and pleasant. Izzy has been cremated and a private family mass will be held soon. Special thanks to family and friends for their love and support throughout this very difficult time.
