Yesterday evening 911 was called for one of our residents. Fortunately, they will be ok, however circumstances could have been much different.
In checking our emergency task force records we realized we had no next of kin/emergency contact listed and therefore no way of contacting them. The resident has a pet which needed looking after.
I would like to encourage all Block Captains to review your files, add new residents that have moved into your area and educate those residents who chose not to fill them out why we need this information in our data base. I realize we can’t force anyone, but this is a good example of the importance of these emergency forms at any time of the year.
