PASSING OF LONGTIME RESIDENT – HERB MICHITSCH
Sadly, again so soon we share the news of the passing of another of our longtime residents. Herb Michitsch passed away in the early morning of Sunday, February 8, 2026, in Gilmore Lodge where he has been since it opened.
Herb and his wife Carol moved into their home at 143 Linden Ave., in May of 2007. In his younger years Herb loved to swim, play cards, attend dances, etc. He even won 1st prize at one of our Chili Cookoffs and was very proud of that accomplishment. Last August they were fortunate enough to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. Herb was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan and loved watching the Super Bowl, especially when the Steelers were in it. Seems fitting he passed on Super Bowl Sunday.
At present, arrangements have not been finalized and when we are aware of them will pass them along to you. Essentials Cremation and Burial Services Inc have been entrusted with his cremation, etc.
