BLACK CREEK PREPAREDNESS
Your Emergency Task Force Committee has been busy during the past few months setting up the Block Captain program and finding ways to make it easier for our residents to plan for their own safety during emergency situations.
There is an excellent publication that was put out by our Canadian Government titled ‘3 steps to Preparedness’. Your committee has also put together a one-page document that is based more on the needs of our Black Creek Leisure Homes Community, titled ‘Black Creek Preparedness’.
In addition to these items the Town of Fort Erie has an excellent online document that we also encourage you to check out as it gives valuable local emergency information. https://www.forterie.ca/en/living-in-fort-erie/resources/documents/72hour_emergency_guide-10-19-23.pdf
All three of these documents are attached, and we encourage our residents to read/print them out and refer to them, especially in the case of an impending emergency. For those who like to be prepared well in advance there is a great checklist of emergency kit items in the government publication. At the Block Captain meeting Leo Mercier demonstrated a kit he had obtained online (Amazon) that contained the basic items for surviving an emergency.
These documents are also available on our website https://bclhcommunity.ca on the ‘Forms’ page listed under PDF documents.
