Personal Apology
To all residents who read my post on Facebook. Historically the Rec Hall has been a haven for people to congregate during an emergency. The post was meant to be tongue in cheek because it has been common knowledge for years that the generator would kick in automatically when the power went out. I have personally been at the hall when the power has gone out, and have witnessed the generator start. It used to be tested for that regularly. I apologize deeply for this and I pray that nobody suffered seriously. Our phone wasn’t working during the outage and we had at least ten messages this morning with heartbreaking stories of homes without heat. Bonnie was in tears. She had called Crystal yesterday and we were told the generator is inoperable. We had no way of getting this message out to people. This morning Bonnie called Crystal again and blasted her. Crystal is on her way here with her husband to help people shovel out. As I write this, Bonnie is calling all the people who messaged her to see if they are alright. I am so sorry if my post caused harm to anyone in any way. In my defense I was taking common knowledge I thought to be true and tried to put a humorous spin on it as I am wont to do.
